Art and the Economy...

Journal Entry: Tue Mar 31, 2009, 6:07 PM

Have We Been Hit Yet?

Gonna keep this short 'n sweet, my babies. Have you guys been hit in the art pocket by the economy yet? As per usual, I'm eyeing my local gallery scene with great desire, but I wonder if I'll be spinning my wheels in the mud to try to go all 'fine art' at this particular time. Thoughts and observations? Sock it to me. :boogie:

Me too! I love the looseness of your technique, and the expressive way you use those thick shadows. Doesn't look digital at all!
Hey Chris, that's really kind of you to say. Although I must say that sometimes (the vampires piece recently comes to mind) that while i'm doing it it doesn't feel so loose ;)
If you're interested to see how I use that brush in Painter here's a link.. [link] Make sure you watch it in HQ though otherwise it looks awful.

The one thing that Painter has over PS for inking, for me, is that you can rotate the page on the fly. PS doesn't have that ability, or at least my version (CS1).
But saying that it is just as possible using the first round brush in the PS brush menu. Just set the hardness to 100% and you're all set to go :)

Let me know how ya get on, I love seeing the results of people using this Painter brush :)
